Not Brad Pitt, not Tom Cruise, this British actor has now been declared as the “most handsome man in the world.” Dr. Julian De Silva, a London-based facial cosmetic surgeon, used the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty to scientifically determine the world's 10 most handsome men. Leading the list is 34-year-old Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who earned an impressive score of 93.04%, with several other well-known names following closely behind.
Decoding Symmetrical Perfection
Dr. De Silva, who operates the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London, applied the Golden Ratio, a mathematical formula created by the Greeks to quantify beauty, in his analysis. The ratio, used by Leonardo da Vinci to achieve the perfect proportions in his famous "Vitruvian Man," can be applied to various aspects of appearance. The closer the proportions of a face or body are to the number 1.618, known as Phi, the more aesthetically pleasing they are considered.
Taylor-Johnson topped the list with a near-perfect score of 93.04%.
Dr. De Silva remarked, "Aaron was the clear winner when all facial elements were measured for physical perfection. His score would make him the most handsome James Bond in history if he lands the role, as rumored." Taylor-Johnson outscored all previous Bond actors, including Sean Connery, who came in second with 89.2%, Roger Moore in third with 88.8%, and Daniel Craig in last, even behind George Lazenby, with 84.2%. Taylor-Johnson’s highest score came from the overall shape of his face, which received an exceptional 99.2%.
Dr. De Silva also highlighted Lucien Laviscount, who ranked second with a score of 92.41%. Laviscount received the highest marks for the length and width of his face at 99.1% and scored an impressive 97.4% for his lips, though he lost points for the gap between his nose and upper lip.

Paul Mescal, the star of Gladiator II, secured the third spot with a score of 92.38%, followed by Robert Pattinson with 92.15%, and Jack Lowden at 90.33%.
The list also featured several older stars, with George Clooney ranking sixth with a score of 89.9%. At 63, Clooney remains a remarkably attractive man, according to Dr. De Silva, who praised his classical features and proportions. Despite some signs of aging, such as volume loss and slight sagging around the eyes, Clooney’s appearance continues to impress.
Bollywood Baadshah Makes It To The List
Rounding out the top 10 was Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, who achieved a score of 86.76%. Dr. De Silva noted that Khan's nose had near-perfect proportions at 98.8%, and his chin also scored highly at 95%. While Khan's overall scores were strong, he lost points for eye spacing (89%), the gap between his nose and upper lip (89.6%), and his lips (86%).
Dr. De Silva explained that while the list is fun, the findings also provide insight into the science of beauty, adding that these advanced computer mapping techniques can be beneficial in planning cosmetic surgeries.
